Although you may have heard many news reports regarding the old types of Segway’s, the short answer concerning our boards is no. Boards from different manufacturers have blown up in the past. However, this was because they didn’t need to pass any CE Certifications to be sold. Whereas now, to be able to sell hoverboards, they must pass certain CE certification tests, which every one of our products has passed. Therefore, our products have never blown up, even since our launch in 2015. This new testing ensures that we at HOVERBOARD® are giving our customers not only the highest quality products, but also the safest they can possibly be.
Despite this, we strongly suggest that you don’t get your hoverboard wet, if you get the battery wet then the water damage means it will never return to its original state. However, if the damage is not too intense then your hoverboard may just be able to survive, but, just try to keep your hoverboard away from water. Although this will not cause your electric board to explode, it can still potentially cause irreversible damage.
